DepEd NorMin and Caraga undertake workshop on ICD program
 
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, March 1, 2023 – DepEd Region X joined hands with the CARAGA Region to discuss the Department’s ICD Program at the Audio-Visual Center (AVC), Regional Office X, on March 1.
 
Spearheaded by the Human Resource and Organizational Development (BHROD) and Operations Strands, Central Office (CO), the activity was anchored on the theme “Integrity, Competence, and Diligence (ICD) Program: Bringing the ICD to the field.”
 
The workshop aimed to contribute to the realization of the Basic Education Development Plan (BEDP) 2030 and the Basic Education Report (BER) 2023 by empowering officials and workforce of each governance level to translate integrity, competence, and diligence into their respective roles and functions.
 
BHROD Undersecretary Gloria Jumamil-Mercado said that the activity was in line with the Department’s initiative to promote the ICD Program as key for improved operations in the workplace.
 
To add color to the event, the symbolic pinning of the MATATAG button was conducted to signify support to the advocacy of the new education agenda. 
 
Jonas George S. Soriano, Senior Technical Assistant IV, facilitated the Dialogue, Workshop, and Plenary on Competence and Diligence Principles and their Implications on the MATATAG Agenda. 
 
On the other hand, Charles Cedrick C. Maghirang, officer-in-charge, Office of the Chief, BHROD-OED, facilitated the Input Discussion of ICD and its Relation to the MATATAG Agenda and presented the initial consolidation of responses and analyses and the most recent updates from BHROD-OED.
 
Meanwhile, Atty. Revsee A. Escobedo, undersecretary for Field Operations, facilitated the Conversations and Dialogue on Integrity while Dr. Francis Cesar B. Bringas, assistant secretary for Field Operations, presented the Operational Imperatives and the MATATAG Agenda, which target the enhancement of communication and advocacy plans, reevaluation of systems and processes, and creation of a monitoring and evaluation framework.
 
To expedite the desired outcomes, the participants crafted their ICD commitment to align with the BEDP and MATATAG Agenda.
 
Usec. Gloria Jumamil-Mercado, Usec. Atty. Revsee A. Escobedo, and ASec. Francis Cesar B. Bringas led the pledge of commitment to the ICD Program and MATATAG agenda. 
 
In addition, DepEd X Regional Director Dr. Arturo B. Bayocot, CESO III, and DepEd XIII Regional Director Dr. Ma. Gemma Mercado Ledesma, CESO V, along with the Assistant Regional Directors and Schools Division Superintendents, also expressed their support and commitment to the implementation of the ICD Program and the MATATAG Agenda. 
 
Adding entertainment to the event, which was hosted by Atty. Candice Zennia R. Razon (aka Ka-DepEd RaDa) and Ramon G. Abrera Jr. (aka Ka-DepEd PAULO), BigaTEN DepEd X anchors, were musical performances from the 7th Chord, Division of Misamis Occidental. │ PAU Fatima E. Villaremo

MATATAG agenda underscored in RAGCOM information and services caravan

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, February 24, 2023 – The Department of Education (DepEd) Region X highlighted the MATATAG agenda during its participation in the Information and Services Caravan spearheaded by the Regional Association for Government Communicators – Northern Mindanao (RAGCOM-NM).

Through the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) 10, in coordination with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and 58th Infantry Battalion (58IB) Philippine Army, the activity was conducted at Sitio Curnao, Barangay Umagos, Lagonglong Misamis Oriental, on February 24.

DepEd X’s participation is part of its efforts to strengthen and sustain the Department’s role in and contribution to the government’s whole-of-nation approach to peace and development in Northern Mindanao.

During the caravan, DepEd X emphasized the MATATAG four components: MAke the curriculum relevant to produce competent and job-ready, active, and responsible citizens; TAke steps to accelerate delivery of basic education facilities and services; TAke good care of learners by promoting learner well-being, inclusive education, and a positive learning environment; and Give support to teachers to teach better.

The Public Affairs Unit (PAU), as the communication arm of DepEd Region X, was represented by Fatima E. Villaremo, Project Development Officer II, who coordinated the distribution of DepEd X’s share of vitamins, healthcare kits, and pencils. Around 30 families, 50 of whom were children, received the basic services.
